Who is Bryan Yach?

Bryan Yach is a financial educator, CFP® professional, podcast host, writer, and media creator focused on money, markets, economic history, behavioral finance, investing, and the way people make financial decisions.

The interesting part of finance usually isn’t the number. It’s the story underneath it — the incentives, history, psychology, power, fear, and ambition that made the number matter.

What I keep coming back to.

The best ideas tend to live at intersections. Markets meet psychology. Policy meets incentives. History meets whatever we are convinced is unprecedented this time.

01

Markets are human systems.

Prices are data. But the forces behind them are expectation, fear, competition, narrative, and behavior.

02

History rhymes through incentives.

The details change. Human motivations rarely do.

03

Complexity should earn its keep.

If an explanation cannot survive plain language, it probably needs another pass.

04

Curiosity is a discipline.

Ask the second question. Then the one that makes the first answer uncomfortable.

About

Bryan Yach.

I’ve spent my career helping people think through money. Increasingly, I’m just as interested in explaining why financial decisions are hard in the first place.

My work sits somewhere between financial planning, economic history, behavioral finance, journalism, and documentary-style storytelling. I care about rigor, but I also care about whether an idea is memorable enough to matter after the chart disappears.

This site is the connective tissue: one place for the projects, questions, and experiments that don’t fit neatly into a single box.
